The Stamer Lippisch glider, also known as the Stamer-Schneider LS-1 glider, is a single-seat high-performance glider designed by Alexander Lippisch and Hans Stamer in Germany in 1951. It was one of the first sailplanes to use a laminar flow airfoil, which improved its aerodynamics and gave it a longer glide range. The glider had a wingspan of 18 meters and a maximum speed of 150 km/h. It was made of wood and fabric and featured a streamlined cockpit with a bubble canopy. The Stamer Lippisch glider was widely used in competition flying and set several world records for gliding distance and altitude. It was also the basis for later designs such as the LS-3 and LS-4 gliders. Today, the Stamer Lippisch glider can still be seen in use at gliding clubs and museums around the world.
